(May 4, 2021) Artists like vocalist Nolo Live and producer Raymond Barton will keep knocking on the door of the world’s musical ears until we decide to listen. The two have something to say. That something, which comes in the form of their single “Way to Your Heart,” is the kind of music a lot of fans say that are pining for and can’t find, even as it appears to be hiding in plain sight. “The Way to Your Heart,” is the kind of ballad that dominated radio and clubs during the Quiet Storm or slow jam interludes when the dancers wanted a little less space between them.

The tune, which is about a man making an appeal to a woman in hopes that she will lower the barricades, oozes romance. Vocalist Nolo Live wraps his muscular and emotive baritone about the lyrics and finds a convincing medium between masculinity and vulnerability. Songwriter, producer, musician and music video director are among the many hats Barton wears. In that vein, he has much in common with great producers Quincy Jones and Norman Connors, who he says have been deeply influential. And in tapping Nolo Live to sing on this single, Barton follows in the path of those legends by finding the right voice to bring this track home. Nolo Live is a native of South Africa who currently lives on New York and has been working as a professional singer and songwriter for about 12 years.

Nolo Live said that his goal as a singer is to use his gift as a vocalist to make the audience feel a song’s energy. He succeeds brilliantly on “The Way to Your Heart.” The song is an expression of the kind of gentlemanly romance that is rarely heard in today’s music. Here’s hoping that “The Way to Your Heart” taps into the public’s deep longing for old fashioned romance. Check it out here.
