(July 3, 2020) For a generation of soul music fans, Ralph Tresvant is musical royalty. As a lead singer for the iconic group New Edition, he played a major role in several decades of our lives, beginning when he was just a kid himself.
Tresvant has been rather silent in the recording studio over the past few years, appearing occasionally as a guest vocalist on songs by other artists, including last year’s Johnny Gill single, “Perfect.”
Now Gill returns the favor, guesting on the brand new single by Tresvant, his first as a solo artist in several years. “All Mine” was produced by Gregg Pagani and written by Francesca Francci Richard, Jeffrey Brent Anderson, Sean Tsai and Gregg Pagani. It gives Tresvant’s familiar tenor voice – which sounds great, by the way – a very modern sheen, as he sings about his special woman.
Tresvant says, “‘All Mine’ to me is a statement record. It’s a grown folks record that says good R&B music executed properly always has a place in the music industry. It also show that addressing the subject of love never gets old!”
Check out “All Mine,” below, and welcome back Ralph Tresvant to SoulTracks.
