(June 3, 2018) Okay, it doesn’t overstate it to see we’re having a hankering for Rahsaan Patterson. It has been eight years since the extremely talented singer and songwriter issued his last album, bleuphoria, and, while we’ve heard a new song now and then, it hasn’t been nearly enough.
Well, over the weekend, the SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award winner posted a new song on Soundcloud, and it reminded us why we fell in love with his music in the first place.
“Wonderful Star” is a gentle, loping number with subtle guitar and keyboards and that most recognizable voice upfront and a call-and-response with the backing singers. It is just the kind of return we hoped to receive from Rahsaan, and we just love it.
