World Premiere First Listen: Quentin Moore loves Dallas in new tribute song

quentinmoore

We introduced SoulTrackers to Austin native Quentin Moore last year and he won over quite a few fans with his album You Forgot Your Heart.   Quentin is a proud member of the Dallas artistic community and he recently wrote a song and shot a video to pay homage to that community.

As Quentin tells it: The reason I recorded the track is because I don’t believe that the Soul/R&B scene in Dallas gets its due. Lots of Indies are making great moves, but are going virtually unheard in local/regional media and are not getting many opportunities from local talent buyers and venues (example: Opening act opportunities.) Many of us have to travel out of Dallas and Texas to places like NYC, Atlanta, and LA to get respect.

Also, last year The Dallas Observer wrote an article about how the Dallas R&B scene doesn’t promote itself, and I totally disagreed! I wanted to start a riot (LOL), but this track is my protest because many of us promote our shows, pack local venues, tour the world, and HAVE GREAT MUSIC. It would be even better if the local media would cover us more, because a lot of us are making serious moves. For Example, Vandell Andrew had a #1 Billboard Charting Song, “Let’s Ride,” for 6 weeks, and was a 2014 Soul Train Award Nominee, but didn’t  get any local press regarding those feats! My hope for this track is that it lets Dallas and the world know, That Dallas has a GREAT Soul/R&B scene of Artists and Musicians with GREAT MUSIC!

Quentin, we couldn’t agree more. So here is our latest SoulTracks First Listen, from a very proud Dallas singer, Quentin Moore. Check it out and tell us what you think!
