Donny Hathaway classic gets fresh new take by PL Sweets

(October 31, 2025) Dungeon Jones came to the attention of PL Sweets and Leroy Burgess due to a request that was – to say the least – a bit novel. PL Sweets’ producer, DJ, filmmaker, and CEO, Burgess sang with the group Black Ivory in the 1970s, wrote “Big Time” for Rick James and scored many dance club hits throughout the 1980s.

Dungeon Jones is singer who knew about PL Sweets’ work and wanted to work with him, but he wanted to do so anonymously. In short, Dungeon Jones didn’t want anyone to see him, know his government name or even hear his speaking voice. PL Sweets was skeptical, but he eventually sent him a snippet of something that he and Burgess were working on. Jones added his vocal and sent it back.

PL Sweets was impressed enough to create the dance song “One Job.” Now, the trio of PL Sweets, Burgess, and Dungeon Jones – the artist who doesn’t want to be an artist – return with a EDM reworking of the Donny Hathaway classic “Love Love Love.”

The updated version hits with a percussive, up-tempo groove that features a pulsating bass line and flourishes of jazz on the keyboards. Hathaway’s music has inspired people to fall in love, advocate for the uplift of their community, embrace the true spirit of Christmas and so much more. Now, in the hands of dance music masters PL Sweets, Leroy Burgess and Dungeon Jones, Donny Hathaway’s music inspires a generation to dance. Check it out here.
