Phony PPL is a Brooklyn-based band which released its third and latest album, Yesterday’s Tomorrow, last year. Co-founded by lead vocalist Elbee Thrie and keyboardist Aja Grant, whose brother Bari is the bassist, the band serves up a laid-back, tasty and soulful stew of R&B, funk and hip hop that always pleases.
Somehow they escaped our notice until now, but this is another band you need to know, SoulTrackers! We feature here the track “Baby, Meet My Lover,” a very smooth, in-the-pocket hip-swayer. Enjoy.
