(September 30, 2017) “Stay Strong,” the latest single by Pete Gitlin featuring vocals by Jacqueline Dunford, comes with a back story that can be rightfully called inspiring. Gitlin wrote the song under pressure to produce a piece of work for a benefit where he had been asked to perform. However, it was not any old benefit. This benefit was being held for a five-year-old girl stricken with leukemia.

Gitlin came up with “Stay Strong,” an inspirational mid-tempo old-school funk number imploring  listeners not to waver in the face of those imagined monsters under the bed or things that go bump in the night, as well as those very real instances when the call from the doctor changes our lives. The fund-raiser was successful and even better young Olivia has been cancer free for three years (and counting). So, Olivia gets a second chance at life, and with the release of “Stay Strong,” Gitlin gives this cut a much deserved resurrection. Check it out.
