(September 24, 2020) Soul music fans know the name Elijah Baker, Jr. for his role as a founding member and bassist of the legendary act Tony, Toni, Tone. But he has also established a career as a sought-after musician and producer for such acts as Alicia Keys and Lucy Pearl.
Elijah has a new project with a bunch of established Oakland East Bay musicians called Park Avenue, and the group’s first single is a cool nighttime jam that pays homage to great women around the world while captivating with its mellow groove.
“Special” is one of the early releases on Baker’s Ambitious Records, and it gets us excited to hear more. Check it out below and tell us what you think.
