First Listen: Paola debuts with stunning “Not A Waste”

(February 9, 2019) When you grow up in a family surrounded by busy artistic hands, the desire to grow that artistic gift is contagious, to say the least.  With Paola Arcieri’s parents and siblings multi-tasking as accomplished musicians and painters, the artistic sky was never a limitation for the Italian born singer/songwriter.  Between the classical piano and the easel, Paola was well on her way to confidently shape a future of creative freedom. Eventually landing a scholarship at Berklee College of Music, Paola discovered her own intriguing musicality, one that blends influences of soul, jazz and classical worlds.

While we wait for an anticipated debut E.P., our newest First Listen introduces Paola’s maiden single, “Not A Waste.”  This self-released track opens with a sea of heavenly voices leading into a wonderland of soft grooves, traces of world music and a delectable layering of keys from co-producer Pasquale Strizzi (Marcus Miller, Meshell Ndegeocello).  The creative juices that have been brewing in Paola all these years generate the main storyline behind “Not A Waste,” a very satisfying blend that also features producer/bassist Reuben Cainer (Bilal). Enjoy the mind of Paola at work.
