(February 10, 2022) Norman Brown is a jazz guitar legend, and when he releases new music we’re just glad he takes us along for the ride. He has been honored by the Grammys and the SoulTrain awards, but Norman sees his musical work as a mission: “I look upon my work as an opportunity to be overcome with joy and to make the most of it. I want to inspire others to search inside themselves for the silver-lining. We all have an opportunity to grow in gratitude for our lives and the blessings we have.”
Norman Brown returns on March 25 with Let’s Get Away on Shanachie Entertainment, creating a diverse disc that pays homage such entertainers as the great Wes Montgomery, while also paving new ground.
Included on the disc is a smooth jam that runs right down the center lane for us at SoulTracks. “I Won’t Hurt You” us a smooth R&B collaboration between Brown, Wirlie Morris (keys, bass synth and drums) and singer James Champion.
