(October 30, 2016) A dash of Gil Scott-Heron, a smattering of Bill Withers and a touch of Aloe Blacc: Myles Sanko’s latest single for his third full-length release is a boldly-stated individuality anthem about doing you and entitled “Just Being Me.”
Soaked in 70s-era orchestration, yet emboldened with piano and percussion, UK native Sanko sings of doing his best, putting in work yet falling short of anyone’s ideal….without apologizing for any of it. “I’m not perfect, and I’ll never be,” he croons, “But I fight for all to see…..I’m just being me.” Sounds like a year-round musical manifesto to us.
