First Listen: Ms Irene Renee sings for “You & Me”

(February 8, 2018) We first got acquainted with Ms. Irene Renee on the First Listen page a few months back with her moving ballad of breaking personal shackles, “I Forgive U.”  This indie soul stylist, who has reached the Top 10 of the UK Soul Charts, echoes shades of Toni Braxton in a rich alto that meticulously articulates the joys and the pain.  Thanks to her upcoming single, “You & Me” (D.A.P. Records), we get to experience Renee’s talents once again.

Backed by a modern urban soundtrack but with an eighties R&B edge, “You and Me,” much like “I Forgive U,” depicts another storyline full of genuine substance. According to Renee, “You and Me” clearly addresses what unbreakable love looks like:  “This song speaks of that real committed type of love – not that fake social media, put on a front for the cameras type of love.”  Welcome back Ms. Renee to the Soul Tracks family.
