First Listen: MotorCidy sings to his “Woman”

(October 9, 2020) Marlo Marlo is a singer/songwriter that goes by the name of MotorCidy, a play on the nickname of his Detroit, Michigan hometown. On his latest single, he stays close to those Motown roots while infusing contemporary elements.

“A Lot of Woman” is an uptempo cut that has MotorCidy singing (and  also rapping) about the type of woman that he loves and needs. It has some hints of blues and soul wrapped in an arrangement that is reminiscent of Marvin Gaye’s “Come Get To This.” It’s a fun track that will undoubtedly also find a home among the stepping and ballroom dance community with the percussion, handclaps and synths.

Serving as the lead single from his album, This Feels So Good, “A Lot of Woman” could very well be the latest in a line of songs that become dance anthems for Detroit and beyond. Check it out below.
