First Listen: Monique Brooks-Roberts feels the “Night Life”

monique_night_llife

After years of fronting the contemporary jazz/R&B group, Tru Vibe, violinist/vocalist/songwriter Monique Brooks-Roberts has stepped out on her own and launched her solo career with the new single, “Night Life.”

Once a member of the Philadelphia String Quartet, Monique has done studio work for Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys and Common. In addition, she has performed live, supporting Yasiin Bey/Mos Def at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. Besides her work with Tru Vibe, Monique can be heard on Rajdulari’s second album, Journey Of A Woman.

Monique wrote “Night Life” with some lyrical input from Rajdulari, while husband J. Aaron Brooks-Roberts manned the production boards and instrumentation. The single is now available for download via iTunes and Google Play, as well as Spotify.

Check out Monique’s “Night Life,” which has the makings of a cool summer time groove for 2018.
