(August 8, 2025) “Echos In The Sunshine,” the new song by UK based soul singer MJ Soul, is “feel good” tune. The music sets an up-beat, steppers vibe. The song’s topic brings back warm memories of summers in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s listening to good soul music.
The track finds MJ Soul using his velvety baritone to list an honor roll call of soul music legends who created the musical canon that stays the standard for great music. So the song’s title, “Echos In The Sunshine,” has a double meaning.
MJ Soul gives us a recollection of summer days and the sounds of Motown, Stax, Donny Hathaway, Curtis Mayfield, Aretha Franklin, and Marvin Gaye blasting from car stereos and console stereos. The title also serves as an acknowledgment that the music these artists made echoes through time.
