First Listen: Miracle Thomas says to “Live Your Life”

(June 2, 2026) Miracle Thomas long knew that music was her chosen calling. Between writing eight hundred songs before she was a teenager and opening for veterans like Mary J. Blige and Eric Roberson as a young adult, Thomas made a huge career dent at an early age. And she further impressed Video Soul host Donnie Simpson by nailing, what else, a Whitney (Houston) classic, “Miracle,” as an unsigned artist.

Yet despite those aspirations, the unforeseen for Thomas took precedence – in this case caregiving for a son on the autism spectrum. Thankfully, her son was also her biggest fan, championing Thomas’ return to the music business in 2018, catching on with U.K. soul loyalists including two self-produced E.P.’s, Expect a Miracle Pt. 1 & 2. Eventually, the Washington, DC based talent was introduced to our readers on a 2021 First Listen, “I’m All You Need, paired with one of SoulTracks treasures, Cool Million’s Rob Hardt.

We are now privileged to have Thomas joined by Hardt on her second First Listen appearance, with several vitalizing teaching points on “Live Your Life.”  This upbeat anthem about steering through impactful decisions cites how to treat those around us, positive or negative.

And Thomas emphatically seals “Live Your Life” via a spoken message: “We all have issues, But whether we talk about them or not, they are there, That’s why it’s so important not to just to tell people that you love them, you gotta show them.”

Thomas’ gospel-inflected lead and background vocals are accented by Hardt’s funky backbeats, frosted by electric piano, synths, and bass guitar.  Take a good listen to soulfully sound advice.
