World Premiere: The Mighty Mocambos funk up the “Beverly Hills Cop” theme

mightymocambos

(October 20, 2020) Lots of SoulTrackers dig old school music, so they’re bound to like German funk stalwarts The Mighty Mocambos. This funky band is old school enough that they’ve recorded their new live two sided single (from their performance earlier this year at JAM PDM! Breakdance Battle at Fabrik Potsdam) straight to 8-track tape, before converting it bright blue vinyl.

And if that wasn’t enough to peak your interest, the B-Side of the single is a horn-filled, funked up version of the Harold Faltermeyer chart-topping hit “Axel F” originally from the Beverly Hills Cop Soundtrack.

At a time when a lot of folks are taking themselves a bit too seriously, this off-the-beaten-path take on an 80s classic made us smile. We think you’ll enjoy it too.

Check out the World Premiere of “Axel F” and tell us what you think.
