(October 4, 2019) Singer-songwriter Michelle Johnson is new to us, but music lovers in Las Vegas know her as that city’s “First Lady of Jazz.” The talented songstress first made a mark as a background vocalist for PM Dawn, and since has worked with such notable artists as Gladys Knight, Paul McCartney and Elton John.
Now Michelle is bringing her message as a solo artist to the world via her new single “I’m All In,” the lead cut from her upcoming EP. The song, opening with an acoustic piano, is a tasty blend of soul and pop, a beautiful ballad that is accentuated by her powerful, crystal clear voice, somewhat reminiscent of Stephanie Mills’ legendary instrument.
“I’m All In,” and the associated video directed by Rob DePew, is a great entry point for listeners new to Michelle’s music. We’re definitely hooked. Check out “I’m All In” below, and welcome Michelle Johnson to SoulTracks.
