Classic soul music fans no doubt remember the great early 70s soul group The 8th Day, which had the fantastic smash “You’ve Got To Crawl Before You Walk.” The voice behind that and the group’s other hits was Melvin Davis, who also went on to write songs for other soul greats like Johnny Taylor and work as a popular session drummer.
After a long time out of the spotlight, Melvin Davis is back with a brand new album and that one of a kind voice. Double or Nothing is the name of the album and the hot first single, a slice of classic soul that should have SoulTrackers salivating.
