(November 16, 2017) — In 2016, Melba Moore returned to the R&B world with the appropriately titled, “It’s My Time Again.” from the CD, Forever. Though this Grammy nominated singer did not completely disappear from recording, it has been a long while since Moore’s glory days of R&B hits of the eighties and nineties, when she regularly topped the charts, both solo and in duets with Freddie Jackson and Kashif. Deservedly, her body of work was rewarded with an induction into the Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame on October 4, 2015.
Moore’s mesmerizing soprano can still hit those higher notes without hesitation, as evidenced by her latest inspirational single, “Searching,” which follows two previous gospel projects by Moore over the years. “Searching” is anchored by a strong duet with Moore and her protégé Tony McLendon. The song delivers a ray of hope with Moore and McLendon’s voices conveying there is a special love worth seeking and searching for in our lives.
