(December 8, 2020) Year in and year out, there are few artists who consistently bring the goodness that we get from singer and songwriter Maysa Leak. The Baltimore-based entertainer has been part of our collective consciousnesses for nearly three decades, both as a member of pioneering group Incognito and, of course, as a top tier solo artist.
A couple years ago, Maysa established her own Blue Velvet Soul Records label, and since then she’s been delivering a string of tasty singles, including this year’s big crossover hit, “Lovin’ You Is Easy.”
Now Maysa returns just before the holiday with another beautiful gem. Produced by longtime music director Chris “Big Dog” Davis, “Soft Words” is a gentle song of romance that straddles the soul and jazz fence beautifully. And, of course, Maysa sounds glorious start to finish.
