Markeisha Ensley combines piano-playing flair with smooth soul. She was awarded the 2011 Abe Olman Scholarship Award for Excellence in Songwriting from the Songwriters Hall of Fame/Songwriters Guild of America. And the New York-based singer touches gospel, soul and jazz in the personal music that fills her most recent EP, Talk to Me.
Markeisha has a new video that is a touching tribute to her father. “Meet You In My Dreams” is a piano ballad with Markeisha’s beautiful lyrics out front. She tells us about the song, “This is a song I wrote for my dad, knowing that there’s hope after loss and a chance to see someone who you love and miss again someday. The video was shot in beautiful Mount Aso, Japan. It’s one of the most personal songs that I’ve written and was recorded in an intimate piano and vocal only arrangement to convey that emotion.”
