(February 2, 2018) Soulful saxman Marion Meadows has been a favorite of SoulTrackers for years, as he has deftly combined elements of soul and jazz into dozens of now classic songs. And on February 9, Marion will be back with yet another gem. Soul City is perhaps his most intimate album yet, featuring a tasty mix of original tunes and improvisations, and an all star cast of guests, including Will Downing, Maysa, Norman Brown and more.
But our first sneak peek of the new album is a beautiful ballad featuring the legendary Peabo Bryson. “Time After Time” was first made popular by Cindy Lauper, but in the hands of Marion and Peabo, takes a cool, late night turn, into a memorable cover that we know SoulTrackers are going to dig.
