(December 18, 2021) Christmas is a time of joy, but it can also be a time of sadness and loss. That is particularly true for those who have lost family members or close friends. Those feelings of sadness and loss can be acute on that first Christmas. Singer Margo Thunder has those people in mind with the release of her new song “My First Christmas (Without You).” The song, which was written and produced by Bigg Robb, finds Margo using her talents to give voice to feelings all of us have felt during the holidays.
“My First Christmas (Without You)” shows how the joy and togetherness that is a key element of the season can make the pain we feel at the passing of a loved one feel even more sharp. You just want to be by yourself, and the traditions that brought so much joy in the past ring hollow. Thunder gives a voice to the pain survivors feel amid the joy and how people find comfort in things and moments they once shared with their departed loved ones. That first year is the most difficult one and we learn how to cope and focus on the good memories.
“First Christmas (Without You)” Is a different kind of holiday song, but the story Margo Thunder tells and the sentiments that she expresses are no less real or no less a part of the holiday experience. Check out Margo Thunder’s “First Christmas (Without You)” here.
