(December 14, 2019) SoulTrackers know that one of our favorite new bands of the past few years has been the UK’s Mamas Gun. With a sound that brings forward elements of everything from Hall & Oates to 70s soul, they’ve come out of the box with a series of incredibly fun albums. Every release from this group is a cause for celebration for us, including last year’s Golden Days, and lead singer Andy Platts’ side gigs in the duo Young Gun Silver Fox.
Out of nowhere, Mamas Gun has just issued a new single that is moving right to the top of our playlist. “Say You’ll Be Mine” is a sweet soulful ballad featuring K-Pop vocal star Kwon Jin-Ah sharing the lead with Platts, and the combination is simply stunning.
Sounding like something that Peaches & Herb could have done in their heyday, “Say You’ll Be Mine” has the feel of an instant love song classic, just in time for the holidays. Check it out below and welcome back Mamas Gun to SoulTracks!
