(May 29, 2023) “Beautiful You” is Lynn Davis’s second single. Think about that for a moment. This artist who has had a distinguished career as a backing vocalist and as member of George Dukes’s band was the lead vocalist on several songs, most notably “I Want You For Myself.”
Davis made journey into the spotlight as a solo artist last year with the release of “Come Over,” a ballad that showed that she retained her vocal chops, as well as her ability to sing with sensuality. Davis comes back with another slow jam in “Beautiful You,” a sophisticated R&B tune that also gives listeners a touch of jazzy swing.
“Beautiful You” finds Davis letting her man know that he possesses the type of inner and outer beauty that some people spend a lifetime looking for but never find. Davis feels that she’s found it in him, even though sometimes seems too good to be true. “Beautiful You” expresses how a person feels when they realize that too good to be true is actually true.
