(February 23, 2018) “Heartbeat,” the latest single by Richmond, Va. based vocalist Lydell Williams, is the first release in an ambitious rollout. Williams upcoming album is the 17 track The Sound of My Melodies, and he will be releasing eight of those songs over the next few months. Williams’ description of the entire project casts it as musical autobiography that describes an emotional process that included some painful experiences but eventually brought “peace of mind and taught me to balance.”
The first single, “Heartbeat,” is a contemporary R&B track driven by a grinding, percussive bass line that finds Williams and a young lady spending time together in an evening that moves toward a night a passion that the singer hopes will bring their bodies and heart close together.
