First Listen: Lisa Banton doesn’t want to “Let You Go”

Toronto native singer/songwriter Lisa Banton has had a lengthy love affair with making music. Inspired by her father, Caribbean Gospel singer George Banton, Lisa grew up listening to R&B greats such as Toni Braxton, Lauryn Hill, Kelly Price, Faith Evans and Mary J Blige.   And over the years she focused on developing her craft as a songwriter and making her delivery as a performer believable and authentic.

Lisa is now readying her debut EP, Lost and Found, and we’re glad we found her debut single, “Let You Go.” With its everpresent drum beat over an electric piano, it sets up nicely for Lisa’s powerful confession about letting a love go that just isn’t working…even though she doesn’t want to.

Take a listen to Lisa Banton’s “Let You Go” and tell us what you think about this talented new artist.
