First Listen: Lindsey Webster’s got the “Music In Me”

(January 28, 2026) SoulTrackers have been grooving to the music of Lindsey Webster for 13 years now. That’s amazing. I can still remember when I first heard “Fool Me Once.” I could not stop playing it, and I could not stop telling friends about that tune. I’ve repeated that practice for each of her five subsequent recordings because music has that effect on me.

What we learn from “Music In Me,” the title track from Webster’s upcoming album and the single featured in this First Listen, is that music plays a redemptive and lifesaving role in her life too. Music In Me the album which features guest appearances by Stokley and Anthony Hamilton – just to name a few – drops Feb. 27.

“Music In Me” is an upbeat anthem where Webster sings about the freeing, joyful and life-affirming role that music played and continues to play in her life. She takes listeners on a tour of her career, first playing small gig and singing standards for $100, and how the love for the art sustained her until her come up arrived in the form of hit records and sold-out concerts.

“Music is my best friend,” Webster said in a recent interview. “It helps move our emotions. You feel different after you listen. It’s real time. I have relied on music all my life, and it has been an escape for as long as I can remember. It has saved my life.
