(February 2, 2022) When two living soul music legends get together, special things can happen. And so we were excited when the great Shirley Jones of The Jones Girls told us that she had recorded a new song with the great Lenny Williams.
“Can’t Nobody” is a cool midtempo with a bit of a southern soul flair to it. It tells the story of two people who have come to realize that no matter how many others may enter their lives, they always come back to each other.
The song was written by Williams with Lionel Holiman and Charles Leonard, and was planned as a duet. But happenstance and a mutual friend brought Shirley Jones into the picture, and she took the song up an octave and created some magic with Williams.
