(October 19, 2021) Throughout this pandemic there have been attempts to create songs to serve as anthems that uplift and unite. It has been a challenge for many, and those in the creative space have used that challenge as inspiration behind their work. For Laura Rain and the Caesars, the time has led them to create a string of singles that have the feel of classic soul, the latest of which is the inspiring “Rise Again.”
Detroit born and bred, Laura Rain co-wrote this groove with her musical partner George Friend. Its roots are in 60s-era Motown — with a guitar arrangement and Hammond organ complimenting the percussion and vocals — but the lyrical content cements it firmly in the 21st century.
Rain tells us the genesis of this song stems directly from recent events: “The pandemic has been tough for all of us. Every aspect of life has somehow changed over the last year and a half. ‘Rise Again’ is our first collaboration with producer UNKWN, and the feeling and spirit of the times came to a boil while recording and writing. It’s an inspirational message, and it feels good to share that with a world out of sorts with itself.”
Rain is able to convey an inspiring vocal as the song evolves, with her soprano lifting through the melody, encouraging the listener that “it’s gonna be okay…..we will rise again.”
“Rise Again” is the title track to Laura Rain and the Caesars’ forthcoming album, set for an early 2022 release. It is equally uplifting and textured, and should provide hope for years to come for those in search for a melodic way to persevere through any challenge they may face. We’re proud to present the World Premiere of this great new entry from the band.
