(June 16, 2017) Dallas-based singer, songwriter and musician Latoya Songstress Cooper has developed her own musical style, a smooth, soulful blend of Neo-soul, Jazz and Latin influences. And her lyrical take on her songs is all her own, too.
Resilience is key throughout life’s ups and downs, and for LaToya, her new single “Hear Me Roar,” is a triumphant expression of that claim. Inspired by personal life experiences, the brand new song is the title track and lead single from Latoya’s new EP, her first project in four years. The song is an uptempo, electro-soul number that marks a big shift in sound for Latoya, whose jazz influences shine bright in her previous work.
