Young has certainly had a lot of success behind the scenes, having written or produced hit music for Jessie J, KeKe Wyatt and others, but where he has made a true name for himself among indie soul fans, is as a singer who is as creative as he is talented (look up his many vocal mashups on YouTube if you want to smile).
And the LA-based singer is now back in front of the mic with a brand new single that tells the familiar tale of a man who is trying to convince a woman that her current man is doing her wrong – and that he would treat her better.
The light arrangement of the song underlies the contrasting vocal interplay of hip-hop phrasing and classic soul harmonies, and Young takes the vibe to eleven with a powerful performance up front.
