(July 30, 2019) Kizzy Crawford is brand new to us, but the 22 year old bi-lingual vocalist, songwriter, actress and guitarist is winning us over quickly. Combining elements of soul, jazz, folk and pop, she is the real deal.
Kizzy picked up her first guitar at age 13 and found a natural talent that belied her young age. She developed quickly as a songwriter and performed at increasingly large venues. And she now shows that she has definitely arrived with her new single, “Twenty Years,” which leads off her upcoming album, The Way I Dream, due for release in October.
She tells us, “I wrote Twenty Years as an emotional reaction to what is happening on this planet at the moment, as a result of the human race. We are hurting and maybe destroying Mother Earth with our hatred, discrimination, violence, human suffering, animal suffering/abuse, global warming. I often feel so overwhelmed and upset by it all that I just want to shut down. This song is bluntly taking a stand for all these issues and more, with the message to LISTEN! – we absolutely need to fix this , together. Otherwise before we know it, this beautiful world will be no more”.
“Twenty Years” just explodes from the speakers, with big horn and rhythm sections, and Kizzy’s engaging vocals, which reminds us of Corinne Bailey Rae.
We just love this song, and think SoulTrackers will too. And so we’re extremely proud to present the World Premiere of “Twenty years.” Check it out below and get ready to jump on the growing career of this new talent.
