(March 27, 2025) Sometimes two people just have to get away. Perhaps they want to restore the fire and passion to their relationship. Whatever the reason, music has often served as the soundtrack to those romantic expeditions by putting the emotions and motivations of two people into romantic words.
That is what the Kinsman Dazz Band and vocalist Gina Sedman accomplish on their latest single, which is simply titled “There.” The tune finds Sedman using her vocals, which might remind some of Stephanie Mills, to engage in a sensual conversation with the man with whom she hopes to make a physical and spiritual escape.
Kinsman Dazz provides Sedman with a lovely instrumental backdrop. It’s ultra-smooth, fusing jazzy saxophone riffs with swinging drums and a tinge of funk on the bass. The band also chips in with some tightly harmonic backing vocals. “There” is a breezy, mid-tempo ballad released right in time for summer escapes. Check it out here.
