June 12, 2018 – Back in August of 2016, when he was only 18 and well before his multiple Grammy nominations, we shouted from the SoulTracks rooftop about Khalid, then a brand-new singer and songwriter from El Paso, Texas. Since that time, Khalid has been releasing great new music on his own and in collaboration with other leading lights in R&B.
We’re especially taken with one of his recent singles, “Love Lies,” a duet with Normani of the band Fifth Harmony. The duo performed the track live on the Billboard Music Awards a few weeks ago, after which it catapulted to #36 on the Billboard Hot 100.
