(March 16, 2021) Oh, the joy of discovery. The rapture of that moment when that first glance is met and there is a mutual realization of attraction. That is the starting point for “Uncover to Discover,” the new cut from Kevin Julien & the Byrnes Complex. The song and the accompanying video are featured on this First Listen. And while the song can stand on its own, the two should be viewed as a whole at least once.
One of the first images in this video is of a strikingly beautiful woman and her movements – rhythmic and sensual – and the way that they are framed combines with the lyrics to describe how that first glance and those pangs of desire propel the mind into all kinds of flights of fancy and thought experiments. The other images shown in this video – all of them featuring a diverse cast of beautiful women in some cases looking into the camera; smiling or dancing alone or with a man – tell the story of what and where we all hope that initial glance leads.
