(February 24, 2022) Over the past decade, talented soul and jazz singer Kenya has become a favorite on SoulTracks. The singer, podcast host and entrepreneur has always found the right musical vehicles to display her gentle soprano voice, and she has won over our audience in the process.
It’s been a moment since we heard new music from Kenya, but she breaks the silence now on a brand new collaboration with legendary rapper T3 of Slum Village. “Always On My Mind” is a groove-filled gem that rides the borders of soul, jazz and hip-hop in an irresistable way, and producer Centric provides a hip sheen over the top in a way that should appeal to fans of all three genres.
Kenya tells us, “Our goal with writing this song is to bring back ‘feel good’ soul, jazz and hip hop music with a slight edge. Love is extremely necessary these days and our hope is to bring back the fun and simple feelings that love elicits romantically.“
