(September 17, 2017) When Kenny Barnes sent Chris, our fearless leader, a digital track of his song “Moonlight Makes Three,” he came correct. He acknowledged that the site gets a lot of requests, and he is asking that we listen to yet one more in the piano and keyboard ballad “Moonlight Makes Three.” Barnes came correct in another way – he sent us one heckuva song that cut right through all the clutter and grabbed my attention. This track has so many great elements: lovely lyrics that reintroduce gentlemanly love and romance into the game.
Then there is Barnes’ baritone that is both virile and vulnerable and that possesses a range that can get him into the tenor territory. That voice is matched perfectly with a musical arrangement that while not sparse is intimate and open enough serve as a foundation for Barnes’ vocal talent. Check it out.
