World Premiere: Kemi Adegoroye showers us with “Flowers”

(April 29, 2026) Soul and jazz vocalist Kemi Adegoroye is new to us here at SoulTracks, but what a find! Possessing a rich alto voice, Kemi brings her talent to music that pays tribute to such legends as Stevie Wonder, Patrice Rushen and Minnie Riperton.

As she prepares for her upcoming EP BLOOM, she is issuing the single “Flowers,” a song that has a deeper meaning for those of us who tried to create positive diversions during the COVID pandemic a few years ago. Kemi herself used flower arranging therapeutically during that period, and that became the metaphor behind the new single.

“To me, giving someone their flowers means celebrating people for who they are and what they’ve accomplished. Everyone needs encouragement now and then. I wrote this song as a love letter for whoever needs to hear it, and I hope it inspires people to love each other better and reminds listeners they are loved and not alone.”

The Brandon Lane-produced song was influenced by Reverend James Cleveland’s 1965 song “Give Me My Flowers,” and there is some Gospel call-and-response behind this song, which stylistically straddles the soul-jazz borderline. But the star of the song is Kemi’s rich vocal performance.

We’re proud to present the World Premiere of “Flowers” below. Check it out below and welcome Kemi Adegoroye to SoulTracks.
