First Listen: Kelley Andre sings for “Me & You”

(February 6, 2020) Nurtured in the church pulpit, tested in stage productions and featured with some of today’s most recognizable soul and jazz performers, Brooklyn NY native Kelley Andre was always led by the gift of song.

Harmonizing since grade school, Andre’s smooth, supple tenor has earned recognition (Nina Simone Artistic Excellence Award in R&B), choral background opportunities (Don Henley, Mariah Carey) and shows fronting with his band, Organic Soul, alongside Calvin Richardson, Carl Thomas, Brian Culbertson and Boney James, to name a few. 2017 saw the release of his debut, Love Lessons, and his 2019 follow-up, Pain & Pleasure, features his current jam “Me & You,” a slow and sensual groove ready for Valentine’s Day and happily ever after.

“We were meant to be, you and me/ living this life of ecstasy…” Kelley’s croon confidence sets the pace and offers a silken path to immediate pleasure, the fulfillment of a fantasy and…..possibilities (“One and one makes two, maybe me and you, can make another one of you”)? Not every listener wants to end up in the delivery room come November, true enough, but it still gets the mood right and if that’s the goal (practice makes perfect!), “Me & You” is a joint that will help get you there.
