(January 24, 2021) One of the fastest emerging singers of the past decade has been soul and jazz chanteuse, Lindsey Webster. And as her many fans know, Lindsey’s consistent songwriting and production partner through the growth years has been talented keyboardist and music director Keith Slattery. In addition to his work with Lindsey, for the past couple of years, Keith has been working on his own music, and the fruit of all that labor will be released in late March, with a number of top tier musicians joining in.
In the meantime, Keith is giving us a sneak peek of the album with the tasty first single, “It’ll Be Alright.” “Alright” is a charming midtempo number that features alternating lead between Keith’s keyboards and the smooth sax tones of Everette Harp. This one leans more toward the contemporary jazz side of things, but it has enough soulful elements — as well as truly top notch playing — that we thought SoulTrackers would dig it too.
As Keith tells us, “With all of the difficulties we all have been through in the last year, I really wanted to put a song out there that brought some positivity to the world. We’ll get through this eventually and ‘It’ll Be Alright.'”
Check out “It’ll Be Alright” below, and welcome Keith Slattery, in his other role, back to SoulTracks.
