On the canvas of Kathy’s latest single “Magic Island,” she paints a picture of “sailing across the sea” to Paradise with the one she loves, finally being in his arms. As Kathy says, the song focuses on “romance, trust, and the promise of escape.” This idea of escape isn’t about running away from a problem but about embarking on a voyage to love. This smooth, quiet storm tune finds Kathy blending jazz and soul in the sophisticated style that she’s known for.
Released on March 3rd, “Magic Island” reached #2 on the UK Soul Chart Breakers, receiving radio play in the UK as well as Italy, France, and Poland.
