(February 17, 2026) While sometimes overlooked in retrospectives of the late 1980s and early 1990s, Karyn White was one of that era’s biggest R&B singers – even though she only recorded three albums during that period – working with that period’s biggest name producers and delivering some of its most memorable R&B songs.
White has spent the last couple of decades continuing to perform and occasionally record, while also showing her talents as an actress and a designer. But we always come back to wanting to hear more music from her, and, after teasing with a possible release last October, earlier this year she delivered a fantastic new single, “You’re Gonna Want Me Back.”
The song has been rising the charts (even hitting number one on our “Fresh Soul” playlist). And now, UK legend Georgie B. has reworked “You’re Gonna Want Me Back,” adding new instrumentation and even getting Ms. White to provide some ad libs. The remix works beautifully, and gives another fresh look at a welcome return for this singing star. Check it out below.
