(January 29, 2018) We recently discovered London singer-songwriter Kaia. Blending elements of soul, folk and electronic, she has a sound that is on point with an interesting new direction in music that we’re increasingly hearing.
Kaia claims influences ranging from Nina Simone, Sohn, and D’Angelo, and we think that fans of newer acts like Moonchild and KING will really dig her somewhat ethereal sound.
Kaia has just released her debut album, Waves, and the cool single “Skin Wet.” She tells us that the song tells the story “about the protagonist finally pursuing a love interest she’s been admiring for some time.” Produced by London Benvolio and Marc T C., it’s a song we’re happy to feature as our newest SoulTracks First Listen.
