Next generation Winans siblings shine on new single

(April 14, 2021) Thirty-three years ago, brother-sister duo BeBe and CeCe Winans shot to the top of the charts with the funky, airy single, “Heaven,” continuing a string of hits that led them to the Gospel A-List. Now, fast forward to 2021 and a new generation of Winans – siblings Juan and Deborah Winans, carry a strikingly similar vibe as they join together for the new song “Never On My Own.”

Juan Winans, who we first heard as part of the act Winans Phase 2,  has been a fast rising star, and hit #1 Gospel recently with the song “Never On My Own.” And Deborah Joy Winans became a household name for her role as Charity on the television drama Greenleaf, where she also showed off her vocal chops.

Now the two children of Winans group member Carvin Winans are performing together, and the vocal chemistry is palpable on “Never On My Own,” a midtempo number that should find fans in both the Gospel and adult soul worlds.

Juan says, “‘Never On My Own’ attests to the security and peace we can derive from knowing that God never leaves us. It is also the perfect song because it is an accurate description of our relationship. We have always had one another’s backs. With each passing year, that brother-sister relationship has grown in importance.”

The song works great, and is a great reminder of the steadfastness of God. Check out “Never On My Own,” and welcome this talented third Winans generation to SoulTracks.
