(March 7, 2026) The song “I Wanna Thank You” was made for singer/songwriter JR Perry. The tune is a good old-fashioned, blues and gospel-tinged love song. “I Wanna Thank You” is a song of thanksgiving for the woman who has been there through it all, but sometimes gets taken for granted.
Perry, with his assertive and gritty baritone, sings in a passionate way that lets that woman know that he noticed her patience, support, and unconditional love. Perry wants her to know that he also intends to give that love back, but first he just wants to shower her with acknowledgement and praise.
“I Wanna Thank You” features Perry engaging in a conversation with a blues guitar and call-and-response with a gospel choir. The tune checks in at a brief two minutes and 43 seconds, but what it lacks in length, “I Wanna Thank You” makes up in sincerity and soulfulness. Check it out here.
