(November 1, 2024) “Mine Someday” is a heart-in-my-hand ballad that was once a regular staple of any soul singer. Hearing Baton Rouge based Jovin Webb sing this latest single will fill listeners with excitement in hearing such passion, honesty and grit coming from such a young man. It will also leave some wondering about the scarcity of such voices today. They’re out there. SoulTracks finds them so you don’t have to.
“Mine Someday” is a blues/rock love song that finds Webb planting his feet and revealing the contents of his heart. Webb throws his gritty baritone into a song where he seeks to convince a woman that returning the love that he has for her is worth the risk.
In the song’s lyrics, Webb tells this woman that he sees what every potential sees. He sees all the qualities that make her desirable. However, he sees the emotional and spiritual scars that she’s been burdened with from prior relationships, and Webb wants to assure her won’t do anything to hurt her.
”Mine Someday” is the latest release from Webb’s album Drifter. Check out the song “Mine Someday” and an accompanying video here.
