(April 4, 2019) Elements of Southern soul, blues, country and even Americana sneak through the sounds of the seven person band, Joslyn & The Sweet Compression. And all those influences come together beautifully on “Somebody Help Me,” the dramatic first single from their upcoming (May 17) debut album.
The stellar, veteran band sounds great, and lead singer Joslyn Hampton – the daughter of noted funk musician Marty Charters, who is also part of the band — is a marvel, ripping her way through the emotional ballad.
“Somebody Help Me” is the story of a woman who has been “left completely shattered” and is longing for the man who left. It has a classic feel of a song that could have worked in any of the last five decades.
We’re proud to present the World Premiere of “Somebody Help Me.” Check it out below and welcome Joslyn & The Sweet Compression to SoulTracks!
