First Listen: Jonathan Winstead feels the “Body Language”

(March 7, 2021) Nashville native Jonathan Winstead is taking a vintage approach in more ways than one on his newest release entitled “Body Language.”

Released as a virtual b side of a two song Valentine’s Day single, “Body Language” is a song that will immediately take you back to the 60s and 70s with its vocal approach and arrangement.  A slow strumming ballad reliant on a plucking guitar and percussion, the song was crafted by Winstead as a way to express the escalation of romance. “I wrote Body Language to describe the intense moment of attraction between two people without even touching. It’s something about that powerful energy staring into each other’s eyes without words being said. But you perfectly understand one another as if you’ve had a full conversation. To me, that’s Body Language.”

It’s also a well executed soul cut that effectively bridges contemporary and adult audiences. Winstead’s vocal prowess is on display throughout the song, convincingly weaving between his falsetto and natural voices.

Check out “Body Language” along with it’s A-side “Old School,” and let it take you on a musical journey through time.
